Too-highly paid real estate brokers?

I’m going to say something that may not please everyone.

The brokers who publicly say that the profession pays too much, that commissions make no sense, or that other brokers make too much money are often the same ones who have never truly succeeded in this profession.

Why?

Because when you live this profession full throttle, you don’t just count the checks. You count the lost evenings, the sacrificed weekends, the calls at 10 PM, the stress of deadlines, the sleepless nights, the legal risks, the deals that fall through after months of work... and all the emotional burden you absorb to help your clients through one of the biggest projects of their lives.

For me, it’s the most beautiful profession I’ve ever practiced.

But it is also, by far, the most mentally demanding.

If your only reflex is to look at the commission and conclude that it’s “overpaid,” perhaps you’ve never really understood what this job requires. Or worse, you’ve never invested in your clients the way some do every day.

The best brokers I know don’t spend their time explaining why their colleagues earn too much. They spend their time working, guiding their clients, and bearing the weight of their files until the signing.

Success in this field doesn’t come from a commission. It comes from commitment. And that commitment has a cost that only those who live it truly understand.
