The real estate market is an ultra-competitive field!


In my business model I am often placed in competition with other brokers. Sometimes I win, sometimes I lose!


However, I always ask the same question to prospective sellers; If two brokers tell you your house is worth the same and the commissions are similar, what are your other criteria for choosing the right broker?


Here, an intense unease often settles in; I sometimes even hear the chirping of crickets. Sometimes some sellers rush to say he just has to be friendly….


Honestly, in life if I have to choose a financial advisor, a lawyer, or someone who must get involved in my most important assets in my life, friendliness will be a criterion but probably more in the middle of a long list.


Many will read this post and think it’s just frustration from missing out on a contract; others will understand that my primary goal in real estate brokerage is to raise the game a notch.


I find there is too much lightheartedness in the choice of the person who will often be in charge of your #1 asset. Take the time to understand who is sitting in front of you.
